Gravesham Borough is situated 22 miles east of the heart of London as the crow flies and comprises the maritime town of Gravesend nestling on the south bank of the River Thames with Northfleet alongside it. The picturesque parishes of Shorne, Higham, Cobham, Luddesdown, Meopham and Vigo make up the eastern and southern parts of the Borough.
