Leisure & Entertainment
Woodville Halls Theatre is one of the larger, versatile arts and entertainment venues in North Kent providing a regular programme of music, comedy and exhibitions and annual pantomime. This is complemented by an exciting local cultural scene focused around smaller venues. Gravesham Arts Council is responsible for the series of exhibitions, meetings and concerts held at the St Andrew's Arts Centre on the riverside and annual festivals of speech, music and arts. The Gravesend Theatre Guild has a vibrant programme of musicals and drama and the borough hosts a series of open air theatre in the summer.
If you prefer more active fun then why not visit one of two main leisure centres at Cascades and Cygnet , each with swimming pools, sports halls, dance and health facilities, Meopham Leisure Centre, Fleet Leisure or one of the smaller gyms. Add to this the extensive facilities for outdoor and indoor sport, ranging from golf courses to ten pin bowling, or being a spectator at Ebbsfleet United, the local football team, you will find something to suit many sporting interests and abilities.
During the summer there is a full programme of outdoor events, centred at the Riverside Leisure Area, and with more formal activities in the parks for tennis, bowls and cricket as well as children's play areas and Play in the Park activity courses. In addition, there are a number of recreation grounds with sports pitches, open spaces, amenity areas and playgrounds.
